Frequently Asked Questions

Is LPG gas pricing regulated in South Africa, and how do you price deliveries in Johannesburg?

Yes. In South Africa, the maximum retail price (MRP) for LPG supplied to residential customers is published and updated regularly under the Petroleum Products Act. We price transparently: gas price per kg (aligned to the latest MRP where applicable) + delivery fee (if any), and we show the full total before you confirm your order.

Do I need a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for my LPG installation?

If you have a fixed LPG installation (for example, a plumbed gas line to a stove, geyser, fireplace, or built-in braai), you generally need a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by a registered gas installer. This helps confirm the installation meets relevant safety standards and is often requested for compliance and peace of mind.

How do you keep LPG deliveries safe?

Safety is non-negotiable for us. We follow best-practice handling procedures, supply cylinders that are maintained within required compliance expectations, and we encourage customers to use SAQCC Gas-registered installers for any appliance or fixed installation work. If you are unsure about your setup, we will point you to the right compliance route before you buy.

Do you do cylinder exchanges, and which cylinders cannot be accepted?

Yes - cylinder exchange is available (swap an empty for a full cylinder) where applicable. For safety reasons, we may refuse an exchange if a cylinder appears damaged, leaking, heavily rusted, illegally modified, or otherwise unsafe or non-compliant. If we cannot exchange it, we will explain why and suggest the safest next step.

What is the safest way to store an LPG cylinder at home (especially in complexes or apartments)?

We recommend storing cylinders in a safe, well-ventilated area and following guidance aligned to SANS 10087 and any applicable local rules or bylaws. If you live in an apartment or complex, it is smart to confirm what your body corporate allows and to use a registered installer if you are unsure about your setup.
